Hi Lorentz hope you enjoy your Camino. From what I understand the albergues arent too full. I couldn't get hold of anyone at the albergue in Pontedueme on my journey but that was early March so I'm sure they will all be open in July. Buen Camino
I hope it goes well. I pre booked in March -very quiet as expected and hoped. Beautiful walk, the trek through the eucalyptus forests should be fantastic in August. Sufficient shady spots to rest. Have a wonderful time
Having spent so much time concentrating on one step at a time.. or stopping to admiring the scenery, rivers and forest, I'm now packed and ready to home. And realise I have no photos to share with those at home. Does anyone recommend a photo book of the Ingles?
Sorry I can't comment on the food I as soo tired I showered and fell asleep. . Not arriving til after 9pm.people were lovely though and room was warm and perfectly clean
So.. Betanzos to Meson do Vento.. at 1pm after average 3 hours walking/coffee/looking at the trees.. my GPS said 3.38 mins to Canaima. One and a half hours later steady slow walking.. 3 hours 8 mins!by the time I got to Hospital it was getting dark.. past 7 pm. Missed the turning.. Walked along...
Thank you everyone xx have now arrived in meson do vento having missed the signs and carried on.. in the dark.. for another hour. Hopefully a more successful day tomorrow to Siguerio :)
The hotel I was booked at is closed. The alternative is so filthy I wouldn't wah a rat in the shower. I need alternative accommodation. Is there an albergue in pontedueme?
I did some walking practice... but not training as such.. I arranged to have my suitcase transported so I only have a day pack and spilt the start of my camino into "shorter" more achievable days. Am here in Neda at the end of my first proper walking day and whilst very slow with lots of little...
Sunny bright cloudless sky very gentle breeze today from Ferrol to Neda ( I can't recommend Pazo da Merced highly enough if, like me you're new to walking long distances or if you like a little luxury). .. look out for Roadworks with a redirection but well signposted.
HI yep... all set to go for this weekend.. if it rains I'll get wet. Hopefully it won't snow as it did at home in Norfolk today. But if it does it'll add to the adventure. "May the road rise to meet you" is an expression I'd heard before but never felt more poignant.. Buen Camino for March.
