    Digital media is all fine and dandy, but I took some self made laminated mini map plus list of albergues with address , Emergency contacts with me. Your phone can run out of juice or land in water or no reception. So oldschool helps, plus map reading skills.🕵️‍♀️

    Yes the Sarong is since forever a faithful companion on my travells. Curtain tent -piece sun sail cover blanket dress shorts turban scarf. Make shift wound dressing. So instead of PJ evening dress sleeping back liners towel one pice of cloth. And it’s pretty too.

    2018. Camino via de la plata was so cold that people used their socks for clothes, but is was exceptional cold. They do sell stuff in Spain. here a link to the other forum https://www.viafrancigena.me/ good tips for Italy.

    Along the coast I did that rain jacket backpack rainproofed and then with a cover and a large hunting poncho I found second hand.     I had boots for stoney muddy roads anywhere where I would twist my ankles and hooka one one for asphalt . The hookas did not need walking in. Maybe you already have shoes you could use?

    I sold my set in Vigo at a second hand store. I just asked what he would give and left with a couple euros that went into another poles from the town Decathlon they had there. There are charity stores in Spain which will take them as well.

    I stuffed my fleece part of my jacket in a dry back and used this as a pillow. Sleep masks with earphones may drown oit the outer noice.

    I had recently a 1 cm folding knife taken away from me as carry on. I always can check in my carry on so no problems there. For hicking poles You could order a pair of Lekis and ship them to your starting point.

    Try them before you buy them . I did and found the Deuter better with my body lengths. Did not like the padding and how they were sitting on my hips. But each its own.
