I have gone exclusively to lightweight wool since my 8th Camino. I wear a merino wool sun shirt most of the time. I do wear shorts but needed protection some days from one leg being burnt. I have had the same experience. I always were my Keen waterproof all seasons and have had blisterfree experiences. No matter which shows you choose, change socks often during the day.- candi
