Wore Merrill trail runners this year and loved them. Super comfortable, no blisters, able to handle the terrain. Sole is not as thick as my Keen's or Vasque's, and likely will not last as long, but for Camino hikes, it will be Merrill's.

My cell phone won't work in Europe and I'm thinking of purchasing one in France (Paris, Bayonne or St. Jean) or somewhere in Spain. Will use it primarily to make hotel reservations on the Camino Frances. Would appreciate advice. Where to purchase? Approximate cost? Thanks in advance.
Take the poles. They make a huge difference. On the uphills, they'll help propel you so that your energy is preserved. On the downhills, they'll save your knees, and the downhills are where people usually get hurt. They also provide balance. Can't recommend them enough.
