For the first time ever, I think I will need to use a backpack transport from Oviedo to Lugo...due to a foot issue. Wondering how I get started on night one. Will be at the Soho Hotel in Oviedo & walking to Villa Patina. I'm booked the entire way, but just need to know how to get the bag...
It's the hotel that is right overlooks the reservoir...Great big patio, rooms upstairs, nice restaurant. Very pretty spot. You can see it on the Gronze map of the Berducedo to Grandas Selime. It's another 4 K to Grandes from that spot and tinkercat is right, a gentle up, but up nevertheless.
Perhaps someone who is walking it now will know if the hostel @ Castro is open. We had a cup of coffee there in September and it was open. Unfortunately the Casa Rural doesn't have very good reviews. I appreciate your help! Trying to do the Primitivo at a slower pace this spring...those long...
Trying to divide this walk into 2 shorter days. I remember last year that the Juvenile Hostel in Castro was open, but according to Gronze it is now closed. We will be there on 26 of May. Does anyone know if its open...or if there is another alternative for lodging between Vistalgre and...
I know that Bodenaya was/is for sale...bittersweet that David and Celia can pursue another dream. But looking forward to another walk on the Primitivo, I was curious about the albergue? Open with new owners? Still for sale?
And if it is NOT open, I remember another albergue, maybe 1/2 mile...
Just "re-worked" my Primitivo trek and I'm intrigued by the monastary in Corellana. Has anyone stayed there recently? Is it actually AT the monastary, or in a separate building? And do you know if there's food in town...like a bar or restaurant?
I almost know the responses Im going to get even as I write this. I'm planning our stages for a September trip. Oviedo to San Juan De Villapananda clocks in at 30 K...but of course I've hear all about the wonderful Domingo. Should I push on past Grado just to experience him? And what about...
Planning on a spring Camino...my firdt that time of uear. Thoughts on 2 windows of time. 1/. Late April to mid May. Too wet? Or late May to mid June? Too hot? I realize wether is a fickle soul, so no worries, I won't hold anyone to their recommendation if the plan goes south!
