I walked a completely isolated 15 days on the Camino Madrid in 2014. The only Pilgrims I met and spoke with were in this lovely albergue. It is a loss for anyone on this special Camino.
I actually stayed at the Holiday Inn in Tres Cantos, believe it or not, when I walked the Madrid. They were very nice and I was happy there for the night.
Hello.
When I walked the Camino de Madrid, I stayed across the street from the first yellow arrow in Plaza de Castilla at "Hotel Castilla". I stayed there for convenience and to get on the trail early as the first day to Tres Cantos is over 14 miles. It is not an interesting Plaza at all though...
I stayed one night in a lovely hotel in Segovia, a renovated monastery, then my second night in Zamarramala only a short walk outside the city. This gave me a whole second day to explore Segovia. The albergue in Zamarramala is brand new and was opened for me by a lovely guy who has a bar in the...

Wow, it's fun reading all these posts about starting off on the CdM. It stands out in my mind as the most memorable 15 days ever. Make sure you have a sufficient amount of water each day, twice as much as the CF, I found. Buen Camino!
