The albergue in Ane is actually now open btw even though Gronze says it’s shut . It’s a nice place to stay ( bar closed no meals - albergue has kitchen).
Thanks again. No not starting to start of September. I just like to plan ahead!
How wonderful. I wish you a fantastic Camino. It’s a wonderful route . Please send a direct message if needed I’m happy to answer any questions. Go well .
Yes, light meals _ but def not late. I think they had meals at 7pm if you asked them at check in a bit earlier - was the kind of place that had such few people . I think I saw 2 others entire time I was there. The lady was super nice I remember her well. Albergue had a small kitchen and...
Yep - key at the bar. The lady there is really lovely. Please make sure you have enough food I can’t recall any supermarkets for about a week from there.
How wonderful for you! I started from Madrid on 1 June and had a superb time. I loved the albergues in Alcazaren, Villeguillo and Penaflor- such great stops. Some of the farm stretches did go on a bit ! It’s such a great option for those that don’t want a party Camino and prefer quiet walking...
Hi Allison. I finished this Camino a few weeks back. Mainly pensions until Segovia then there are albergues. Given it’s so quiet I sometimes called the night before to advise ( and double check the hospitalero/a was around). Carry some food. Often the only fruiteria or tienda was closed. Carry...
Hey - I just finished the Camino Madrid - arrived to Sahagun 4 days ago. It was different ! Very different. Not many albergues at all until Segovia, then one per day maybe two. Usually had them all myself for €5. It was not without its challenges in terms of food and water. Very, very, very...
Oh Robin, greats news there are few pilgrims - can not stand a dorm of 40 people and a bed race !!!!! Can I ask what you did at Coca when there was no bed? Taxi back to the last town and stayed at the same place or something? Thats the last thing you want at the end of a hard day. ps - love the...
Hi Robin,
Shaun here - I’m flying from Aust on Sat and staring the Madrid on Mon. Now I’ll sit and watch your videos !
I’ve pre booked some pensions from Madrid to Segovia and from there hoping ( praying) albergues will be open. Pleas tell me it’s been ok?
Good vibes to you
Shaun
Hi - I’m off on the Madrid starting 1 June and was dreading the Sahagun to Santiago due to crowds. Someone said I could walk Sahagun to Leon ( only a few days) then do Camino Sam Salvador then Camino Invierno to Santiago- it’s a fantastic idea when you look at the maps and means hopefully only a...
Well this is quite the surprise- accomodation is almost impossible on 3rd June in Cervedilla . A festival is on, of course ! Really didn’t think it would this difficult. Chose the Madrid to make things easier ( face palm).
