Arrived in Le Puy and need a tip

By the way, I found this video very interesting: she does part of the Le Puy camino/Cele variant by canoe: Maybe she booked here: https://www.location-canoe-cele.com/parcours-canoe-kayak-cele/randonnees-pelerins Just in case you would be doing that too, could you post your experiences? Thanks!

Closed Gites...or Gites closed to Americans?

You're very welcome! I sent you my mail adress privately, if you like, you can send me the spreadsheet. But as there are lots of savvy guys on this forum, I would then transform it into a forum posting so that everyone can have a look at it. You'll get better responses if it's checked by...

Closed Gites...or Gites closed to Americans?

#1 and #2 are not located on the Via Podiensis, are you aware of that? Thus it's not possible that they are listed in any accomodation list for the Via (or if any of them is, it's a fault). #1, La Halte du Pelerin, is located on the way from Cluny to Le Puy which I did in 2014. #2, Chambres &...

    Fishing opportunities along the way.

I would say the middle third. Namely the rivers Lot, the Celé if you take the variant, the Tarn, the Garonne and the Adour.

Cluny...Le Puy and The French Way

Well, I walked from Cluny to Le Puy in the fall of 2014, if that counts as "recently" ;)...

Moissac, France to CDG via Bordeaux?

Yes, usually. I assume there are also slower trains, but the normal ones are the TGV trains (=train à grande vitesse = high-speed train). CDG is only one of the Paris airports, and Paris also has multiple TGV train stations. There's no main train station. But all airports and train stations...

Moissac, France to CDG via Bordeaux?

Have a look at the map...: Moissac - Lyon: approx. 410km Moissac - Bordeaux: approx. 180km So Bordeaux is in fact much closer to Moissac. So the advice is correct. The trains to Paris take ~2:10 hours anyway (which is really fast!), regardless if it's Lyon or Bordeaux. Harald

Donkey friend from Le Puy to Figeac?

I didn't use a donkey, I walked by myself. But my family owns two donkeys, so I'm a little bit into the subject. If you want to rent a donkey in Le Puy, have a look here...

    Oloron-Sainte-Marie: Albergue?

I can also recommend the already mentioned Relais du bastet. The couple running it is super friendly and gives lots of good information. I stayed there in 2011 for 12,50€ per night and again in 2017 and the price hasn't changed since my first stay. See the front door info here...
