Hi Eva! Thank you very much for your review! The Saiatz alternative is Camino de Santiago and therefore is indicated with yellow arrows. I'm afraid I can't answer your question, I can't say if for you it's too much or something feasible to go 35 km up and down tracks on farm roads, and cross...

    Vasco in December

This answer might be too late, but could be be helpful for others. Wikiloc app it's a really good mountain trail app, there you can find all Camino trails, also this Vasco from the valley or the mountain alternative. You'll have to pay for an annual pay but it's really worth doing it.

Here some pictures of the walk. Before getting away from Saiatz I went up to Murumendi mountain summit, magnifique views of the basque Highlands. That summit it is an archeological sight, there is an Iron Age village under the ground. I also walked up to Usurbe mountain just before going down to...

    Brochures on the Saiatz alternative

In Euskera Zarateko means "of Zarate", basque is an agglutinative language, there are no prepositions. It's grammar is alien if you speak a Indo-European language yes, but not as difficult as people may think, it super logical. Zarateko Benta would be in that way Venta de Zarate in Spanish. So...
