Eating vegan diet on the Camino

No, don't remember seeing the vans. Never felt that I couldn't get something to eat.....even just a plate of pimientos de padron! It's good to remember, though, that markets close mid-day in many places. I'm sure you are going to enjoy the Primitivo and will do fine with food. Buen Camino!

Eating vegan diet on the Camino

First of all, I strongly recommend that you reserve your first two albergues (because I loved them both)! Coffee in Spain

Spain has the BEST coffee. Every tiny bar or restaurant, even in the middle of nowhere, has a fabulous coffee maker. I would suggest NOT bringing coffee from the states, especially anything in plastic....and enjoy the delicious cafe con leche! You are in Spain!

    Camino without alcohol?

I totally abstain from alcohol.....has never been an issue. I prefer aqua con gas (sparkling water) and Aquarius! Yes, whether you drink wino or water, you will pay for a Pilgrim's menu. Buen Camino!

Bed bug advice along Camino Primitivo and Norte

I did not run into bedbugs on any of my caminos. I did the Primitivo last year, no problems for me or any other pilgrims I walked with or met. I would definitely make sure, though, that you DO stay at David's in Bodenaya....NOT to be missed! Buen camino!

    tarta de santiago

Check out the almonds torte recipe at Epicurious. com. I think it is a perfect recipe, easy too. Better than the pre-packaged cakes you get in the tourist shops, really delicious! Buen provecho
