    Beware of price gouging

This happens especially in the larger towns and especially in Santiago. My diaries note how I might expect to pay up to10 Euros for a menu del dia, including a filling meal and either a bottle of local wine or a caraffe. I was then often charged 9 Euros for the Mdd .... plus 15 Euros for the...

Which camino fits to my criteria?

As you live in Valencia, why not try the peaceful Camino del Ebro?

On the Camino, on this date in April...

Of my five caminos, I think my favourite was the Camino del Ebro in April and May 2015 in Fontcalda. Here's just one picture. Sadly my camino days are over, as old age has caught up with me. I miss the caminos. I miss Spain and her blue skies so much, and thank God for the happy times He gave...

Where did you walk ( locally ) in 2021?

Nor me, Chrissy. They have the great advantage of being able to hear a car coming from half a mile away. Unless, of course, they're like this .... taken in Porto in 2011.

Where did you walk ( locally ) in 2021?

Hi Chrissy! The pine trees are "evergreens". But we are lucky in the UK - minimum temperature this winter around minus 2 deg C here in the east of England: currently, as I write, a very unusual +11 deg C. But I miss Spain so much: I am so glad I kept a diary of all the caminos I walked - they're...

Walking through a local forest - I do this twice a week. Not a "camino" but simply a lovely walk.

WOW! Love the circular arch! Lovely architecture - but sad to see so many derelict....brought back memories of Spain in many ways. S xx

Love that friendly "Pension" - stayed there on several caminos' My brother saw me off from there when I walked the Ingles in 2014. Little did we realise that he would be dead five months later. Thanks for reminding me of happy days, SabineP! S x

It always makes me smile - in the UK we have "St George and the Dragon" but in other places - especially Portugal - it's actually "St George and the Aligator"!

I absolutely LOVE the millions of poppies to be seen on camino. My note for this picture reads "I don't know about Flanders fields, but the poppies sure grow in Monzalbarba fields." Taken in May 2015. You have no idea how much I miss the camino!

In April and May you find the wild flowers in abundance. This is one of my favourite pictures, taken on the camino from Porto to SdC in 2011.

Abegondo I think, 15 kms from A Coruna. Happy memories. I walked it in 2014. Here's a picture of the very first camino marker in A Coruna port. When will we be able to return I wonder? Blessings from East Anglia.

I remember that so well! But on my camino it was a misty morning, and quite difficult to see the river until about 11 a.m. Such happy memories.

I loved the Ebro Camino from Vinaros to Logrono, five years ago. Beautiful mountain scenery, and a good footpath through multiple tunnels where once a train line had run.
