I twice stayed there: 2002 and 2014.
February 2014, I walked all the way from Pamplona to Roncal albergue in Cizur Menor. I had just fallen and twisted my ankle on that awful rubble in pic below.
The owner opened her albergue early and let me rest all day long.
My Thursday wee dander around N. Jetty in Marina Del Rey. About 10 minutes from my home.
Instead of walking along the boardwalk I ambled in the alley and happened upon these mini parks banked my homes on either side.
When I was 27/28 I asked God to send me a man: named Ken (to my Barbara/Barbie), 6’2”, 190lbs, single, well-educated, never-married, no children.
When I was 40 on my second camino I met him in Roncesvalles at the pilgrim’s dinner. He lived on east side of Central Park in NYC, I resided on the...
North Jetty Marina Del Rey, (Los Angeles), California.

Many folks just park, sit in car, and enjoy the quiet.
If you look closely snow-capped mountains are in the distance.
I’m a 5. I love the movie. Love it!
I saw it 14 years after my first camino.

In 2014, I meet a Frenchman who lived on camino. He walked back and...
On my first camino at lunch and dinner I was often the only American and the only pilgrim not drinking beer or wine. This was in 2001 fewer Americans out and about then.
Anyway, at nosh times, I drank Coca-Cola all the time.
After a bit a few folk started calling me Miss Coca-Cola.
Tincatinker,
Often your comments are humor filled.
But, every now and again your serious arrow hits the heart of the matter.
In 2002 at church in San Juan de Ortega after mass, the parish priest gave we pilgrims a tour of grounds.
His words were translated Spanish to English by an American...
Thank you for posting.
The first two paragraphs sum up the issue quite well.
Glad there’s a growth in blacks and browns heading up outdoor activities for themselves and others.
A few years ago, Rick of Rick and Peg, told me about Black Girls Trekkin. I’d forgotten about it. Current...
In 2002, I was a hospitalera at San Nicolas del Flüe albergue in Ponferrada.
I volunteered with a Spanish guy. At night we two hospies would escort pilgrims to the graveyard next to albergue. We all stood under the tree while my fellow hospie would chant the quemada as he stirred the cauldron...
