A late entry and not much to add to everything everyone has said above @Rodney Kent. 'Am guessing you are in Aotearoa since you appear to have just woken up! A group of friends and I were discussing the best way to get to the South Island for a hike, and an aeronautical engineer for our national...
I did the Norte in July with my Wise card (and my husband ;-) and it was great. Not sure if it's been mentioned above but highly recommend only getting cash out from an ATM machine at a bank during working hours. That way if something goes wrong with the transaction, you are able to approach the...
Im on the Norte in Santander right now and it’s 28deg. It’s 5pm. That said, my husband and I have been starting our walking between 6&7am and are generally at our destination by 1pm. Highly recommended. This heatwave has just arrived in the last day or two. You would be unlucky if there was...
Hi. Our 2020 Camino was cancelled due to Covid. We had bought full comprehensive cover travel insurance. After the cancellation and reading the very fine print, we found that it wouldn't have covered us for anything related to a pandemic. That appeared to be standard clausing even before Covid...
Kia ora thank you Alwyn :-) Aaaah to be able to go and walk in one or two week blocks of A/L after catching a 2hr 60euro Ryan Air flight at the drop of a hat! I like the idea of Le Puy/Frances - looks ancient and gorgeous - and worth the 24 hour flight to get there :) Te huarahi pai
Thanks Kathar1na. You make excellent points and I've enjoyed reading them all :-) You clearly know a lot about this. I guess I have plenty of time to read and think about it at a rate of one Camino every 2 years. Buen Camino.
Hola peregrinos. My first camino last year was the Primitivo. Next year I'm doing the Norte. By chance these are the oldest and second oldest Camino's. I thought it might be interesting to plot my next Camino's by age - from oldest to newest routes. Does anyone know anything about this, or where...
Ditto. I loved the cafe con leche's on my last camino but alas next year I will be looking for an alternative. Good to hear de-caf is available. Psychosomatic coffee as I call it :-/
After finishing walking for the day and showers, laundry etc, I’d lie on my bunk doing yoga stretches with some chill sounds on the headphones for 30-40 mins. Nice and easy.
