We had 14 days to walk and first thought about doing the last 14 days but decided that, for us, the Camino was about the journey and not about arriving in Santiago so we started in St Jean and thought we would just walk and see where we got to in the 14 days.
We ended up walking to Burgos.

When we tried to book at Esprit du Chemin before we started our walk in May they also came back and said it was full. But when we arrived in St Jean we took a chance and went there and they had a sign up saying "2 places available"!!!

Well ...... just back from our walk from SJPP to Burgos. What fun!!! Really enjoyed it and was quite upset at not being able to walk further (although now have something to look forward to - our next walk)

We starting from SJPP on 23 May and I must say I'm getting a bit worried about how far we'd have to walk to find a bed. Hubby does not know the meaning of the word "hurry" so I can't see us leaving early in the mornings!!!!!
Good idea (as always) Sil. I don't have a blog - actually wouldn't even know how to do one  but will try and log onto this site when or if I can.
To both of you (and anyone else starting) - all I can say is enjoy!! I'm sure you going to have a wonderful journey.

Our flight arrives in Madrid at 7.30 a.m. We were thinking of taking a taxi to the train station as we want to get the 10.00 a.m. train to Pamplona.
If we used the metro would we get there in time? (it would be a lot cheaper than the taxi I think :? )
We will be doing the same next year - flying into Madrid and have to leave luggage there for a couple of weeks.
Luggage can be left at the airport (you can go to Madrid airport website - don't know how to post a link  )
