We are in Pedrouzo, and wont be arriving in Santiago until noon tomorrow the earliest. When is the big mass with the pilgrims and Botafumeiro? Do you go to the mass first or get your Compostela?
How long does it take to get the compostela? - are there big lines? I am so excited and so close...
Looks we'll be there too. I started at SJJP last July and walked to Logrono then in September walked from Logrono to Monlinaseca now I am starting from Astroga and waking to Muxia/Finisterre.
Looks we'll all be there around the same time, lets connect.
Buen Camino
Since St. James festival July 25 was cancelled last year due to the train tragedy, how busy will it be this year? Does it get busy few days before it or just the weekend - looks like I will be getting closer to Santiago according to my schedule - I just want to avoid Santiago since there will...
Thanks for all your responses - I already have my passport from last year, its almost full and I need a new one to take me to Santiago.
I will go to the Tourist Office near the Gaudi Museum to get it as some Alburge don't give you passport if you are not staying there.
I am starting from Astroga July 6 and walking to Muxia - how busy will it be?
I walked from SJPP to Logrono last July and it was empty since it was so hot.
I walked from Logrono to Molinaseca last September, it was busy and it was also warm.
Any suggestions for this leg of the trip from...
Thanks so much, looks like I am in luck they are open at 11am.. which is perfect. we can walk the 7km to Pontferrada and take an early lunch break and then head on our way.
Is this castle open during the day - We will be staying at Molinaseca the night before and if we walk to Ponferrada will it be open? Not everyday you get a chance to see a magnificent 12th century Templar Castle in tact and what are our chances to see it? I found generally things are closed...
You guys are the best!
I just figured out that I can take an ALSA bus from Madrid to Astroa - 1:45pm to 6pm.. the best choice for me since I don't have to switch!
Now how easy is to book the tickets online since some bus companies don't like to sell the tickets until an hour or two before the...
I am finishing my Camino this year as I left off last year in Molinaseca - but I am willing to back track couple of days since I want my friend to see Astroga and walk couple of days to get my legs back before getting ready for O'Cebreiro.

I know you are looking for a bus but I would highly recommend if you have an extra day or to take a taxi - to do the Detour to San Millan de Coglla and Monsteries of Suso and Yuso. which is marked on the Brierly book * Yuso especially. This valley is so beautiful and you'll enjoy the Monastery...
En El Camino - Boadilla del Camino - great grass area to lounge, swimming pool, great café or restaurant to eat, huge a lovely vibe here!
Jesus - Mazarife - great atmosphere, pool
Karl Leisner - Hospital de Orbigo - great garden, just a great place to hang around
Albergues Villares - Villares de...
thanks all for your advise, they are all great. I just one US-Canada adapter, maybe I´ll get another one if I can find it. I will not walk away from my electronics while its charging, I have a book that I can read or plan my day or just write my notes down for that day. It would be unfortunate...
@mspath thanks - I just checked jacotrans - seems like they deliver packs, I can call them and let them know where to pick it up and deliver, only to Private Albergues and hotels but it really helps as my foot is really acting up. so I might carry a day pack with daily supplies and let them drop...
@mspath thanks for your speedy answer. I have an idea which village or town I plan to stay overnight, the thing is I wont know where I will be staying until I get there. I plan to stay at private albergues if they are a bit more liberal and if there are two private alburges I wont know until I...
Thanks very much, this answer helps me a lot and plan my days and hours to get things done without losing my electronics as it would be a terrible timing to lose my emergency phone in the middle of the Camino.
The first part of the Camino (SJPP to Logrono) we used a English travel company and they moved our bags and we stayed in hotels. This leg of the Camino I am going to walk from Logrono to Leon carrying my own stuff and staying at Alburges. I have some electronics, my old iphone and camera...
I've hurt my foot and its sensitive but don't want to cancel my trip as I am heading out today for the Camino. I heard there are transport services for backs from hotels and Albergues - has anyone used one? Do they need to be called everyday, how much do they cost? I might use it for the Meseta...
