I'm currently in Fromista and it's becoming depressingly necessary to make bookings to secure a bed for the following day. I would expect May to get worse.
Last night I was catching up with shows on Netflix, in particular "Crossing Lines" about a crime-solving team from the International Court of Justice (ICC). Quite good, worth watching. This episode revolved around a series of unexplained murders by drowning, in which a shell had been found...
I walked in October 2013. There was one woman that became notorious for various reasons, who left SJPdP at 2pm, and made it to Roncesvalles after 10pm. She and her companion banged on the doors of the albergue until they were let in.
Some time back there was a thread about how geography and the realities of international travel mean that some nationalities are more likely to start their journey from St Jean on particular days of the week. For example, Canadians appear to be more likely to start on Saturday.
Can anybody help...
Tomorrow Tuesday 1 October at lunchtime I start my journey from Canberra, Australia [Bus +plane +plane+train+bus]. I will finally start walking from SJPdP on Friday 5 October.
Does anybody else have a longer prelude to their Camino?
cheers
Alex
"The City of Burgos for its 1,100 year anniversary, for Count Diego R. Porcelo S.V. who, according to tradition, lies here.
1st March 1984"
That's what in the section of the sign that you photographed.
cheers

Hello Enrica:
This organisation in Pamplona advertises specifically for Pilgrims. They might be able to help you also with who to contact in the other cities you mentioned.

Hello Jstorybook! I will be leaving SJDPP on 4 (or 5) October. The only thing I am taking, apart from the standard gear, is a set of thermal underwear (top and bottom). I may not need it, but it's a case of better safe than sorry.
Hope to see you on the Camino!
