    A Way now too travelled?

Did a 320km stretch of the Camino a few years ago, beginning of June, unforgettable! fantastic! Was so looking forward to going back when I can. Speaking with a good friend who I met on the Camino then, who is back doing another stretch right now, she started in St Jean end May. Too crowded, too...

    Keeping this invaluable forum alive

This forum was where I got all the right advice, info and encouragement for my first Camino (Leon to Santiago about 18 months ago) - worked out fantastically, so memorable! and hopefully more to come. Ponferrada to Santiago...first time Camino walker!

Hi galwaygirl Vaseline - absolutely - especially on pressure points on sole of feet. toes & edge of heel all the way round. I used an ankle-length pair of lady's nylons (!! ) as undersocks as well as the vaseline - & not a blister in sight on my first Camino, Leon to Santiago in June...

    Shoes for Camino

Attempting my first part-Camino on June 1st, Leon to Santiago and yesterday I was thinking about the footwear choice - my walking boots or Goretex Salomon walking shoes, worn in but still in good shape. Was leaning towards the boots for no other reason than perhaps simplistically "long walk -...

Should I start from Leon or closer to Santiago? Can do 130 m

Hi Sue, Similar to the query I had in my mind - I'll also have 14 walking days available, so how far can one reasonably go? I'd imagine it would be different for everyone and I suppose if the worst came to the worst there would be buses, trains & taxi's as a 'bail-out' stragegy? My own approach...

Hi Joe, very interesting thread! I'm 60 in Nov this year, & starting a part-Camino (from Leon, my first Camino adventure!) in 44 days! got going on training last weekend! Great to see all the words of support from very experienced Peregrinos! thank you all!

Leon to Santiago in 10 days - realistic?

Very helpful thread, thank you! was exactly the query that I had in my mind & the discussion really helped. I'll be flying from Dublin, but hopefully I'll be able to allow about 12 days, ie two weeks off work & allow 2 days for flights & getting to start & returning. Thanks again. :)
