Hi Deb, I flew Vanc to Pamplona and then took a bus to SJPdP, super easy. I was traveling solo as well, for the whole Camino and didn’t experience any problems at all, there was never a moment where I felt afraid. You will meet many wonderful people who will make you feel part of a bigger whole...
This was also my experience! I was very lost one day, had walked 3 hours in the wrong direction after leaving early in the morning because I couldn't sleep. A police car went past me, turned around and came back, took me for breakfast and coffee and delivered me back to the point where I should...
For the month of July, 2016, I am considering hiking the TMB and then heading directly to SJPDP to walk as much as I can of the CF before I have to head home. I was wondering if anyone else had done this, and what they thought of doing the two so close together. I have walked the Camino Frances...
Yes they are wine grapes, but I work at a winery, and trust me... they are tasty!
We have the same problem here with tourists helping themselves to our grapes, it is very frustrating!
Pilgrims should not be doing this.
Thank you to both Arn and Al. I agree that my friends knew what I let them. I do think I know my own mind a bit better these days; I know that I am a different person than I was before my camino. And I am deciding which camino will be my next one :)
I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments here, it makes me feel a little less alone in my post-camino blues. I've been home now for 2 weeks and am a roller coaster of emotions. Everyone wants to hear about my camino, but I find it very difficult to find the words to express properly, and no one...
Thanks so much everyone! It's been great reading your comments and hearing your advice, I appreciate it.
If you are on the Camino between Sept 13 - Oct 30th and come across someone either walking awkwardly with poles, or with hands in the air... that'll probably be me!
And maybe together we can...
Thanks! I never thought of that. I have tried walking poles, but I can't quite seem to get the rhythm and find them more cumbersome than helpful. But I will try walking without so much arm movement :)
Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone else has been experiencing swollen hands when walking. I have been doing many training days getting ready for my Camino on September 13th this year, and I'm finding that when I walk, no matter how much I swing my arms, my hands and fingers swell up to the point...
Heads up though... that if you do have a card with a chip and a PIN, make sure your PIN# is only 4 digits max. My bank advises that the PIN won't be recognized in Europe if it's more than 4 digits.
Kat, you sounds like a strong and courageous woman; my heart hurts for you that there are pilgrims who judge and called you names such as "taxigreno and hotelgreno". Why would anyone do this? You must do what is right for you and do not listen to the negative comments. You are walking your own...
Thank you! I look forward to meeting you and your wife! I hope that we may walk together for a time. About the taxi, I'm not sure this will work. I am flying into Pamplona and will arrive the evening of the 14th. On the 15th my plan is to also have a day of rest, make my way to SJPP by shuttle...
