Starting from Lisbon on September 25th

I will certainly try to help with as much information as possible. I do tend to get distracted and not remember names and places but I will try extra hard this time. And thank you for putting this together it has already helped a great deal in setting a sort of rudimentary itinerary.

Starting from Lisbon on September 25th

Hello Petya-n, Welcome! I will be starting in Lisbon, from Parque das Nacoes youth hostel on Sept. 23. I like to amble, and do about 15 to 20 km per day, so chances are you will catch up to me and probably pass me. Would be happy to walk with you if you do.

Camino de Portuguese from Lisbon to Sdc and Finisterre

Congratulations! 29 days to Finisterre is quite an accomplishment in my book. I hope to do the same Lisbon to Finisterre that is, not in 29 days, longer for sure. I will be going in Sept and Oct. Like you I like the albergues whenever possible. I believe you took the coastal/ littoral route? I...

Tui - Redondela Stage: Careful when walking across the river!

Please remember, before crossing a water source such as this , on a log or planks, to unbuckle your hip belt. It will make it easier to slip out of the backpack if you fall.

Lisbon to Porto (some very personal observations)

Claudia -- do you have any more specifics? I did a quick forum search and can't find anything else about that, but maybe my computer files (currently inaccessible) have already noted that in the "Lisbon updates" file. Bom caminho, Laurie Laurie, Brierly lists "Salao Parochial de Valada...

Great, I'll make sure to stop there as well.

Credenciales once again available in Lisbon -- May 14, 2015

Laurie, Thanks for posting this, I was under the impression that there was a CP credencial, hopefully in Portuguese. I don't think it's well known that they are from the Pilgrim's office. Knowing this now I will order one from Ivar and not run the risk of not getting one there, though I will...

Lisbon to Porto (some very personal observations)

Thank you for the reassurance. I read an old thread where someone stated they had been attacked by wild dogs in a forest. Hopefully it is like the Shirley Maclaine dog encounters on the Frances, something that used to happen but has gotten better with time and numbers of pilgrims.

Lisbon to Porto (some very personal observations)

Thanks for all this. The dogs make me a little nervous but I do use trekking poles so maybe that will suffice.

Stage 1: Lisbon to Vila Franca de Xira > Considerations

Thank you, Diogo. This is very useful. I will definitely need to cut that section into two or three days. It took me 50 days to walk the Frances, as I love to walk slow and enjoy. You also answered another of my questions, about the need/usefulness of poles as it is mostly a flat route from what...
