RON Recently read a fine book "Ancient Spiritual Practices , Sacred Journey" history of Pilgrimages. What was most interesting is the author comparing Hiking and Pilgrimage. He said the distinctive difference for the Christian Pilgrimage is laughing.... Let others beat themselves with rods...- Don Hoff

Jabaldo, we leave here Sept 11, are starting on Sept 13 from around Astorga. We usually make our plans fixed and set on two ends.... Linda, thank you for the word of caution. One must be a Defensive Rider, but that is no guarantee , as you know. Thank you Mary... Yes a nice looooong walk. There are probably some who say I don't sit still. Try to walk in the AM and bike in the afternoon Gives me plenty of time to think about so many things like Camino.
