Leaving St Jean 1st May 2013
to all pilgrims who are beginning their journey on 01MAY- be aware it is a holiday in Spain and much of Europe. When I was travelling last year there were times that there was not room at the inn. I don't want to make anyone anxious but just aware. Buen Camino- bklyntraveller

I see you mentioned flying or starting your camino on 01May. Just be aware the the first od May is a national holiday in Spain and most of Europe. Depending on what day of the week it is things can get very busy. Book your stay if you can especialy around that day. Buen Camino- bklyntraveller

Walking in September....help...newbie
Manuel, Trust in Santiago but bring a guide to the Camino by John Brierly. Most pikgrims were carrying that guidebook available thru B&N and Probably Amazon. Pack 1/2 of what you plan and enjoy. I will be Returning to leon to finish my Camino and since I'm slow you will Probably catch up...- bklyntraveller

It looks like there will be a number of birthday celebrations on the Camino in September. Mine is the 1st -65th birthday and I walked with the American Pilgrims on the Camino (APOC) in CA today with a man who is celebrating in Spain on the 8SEP.
