Hi and welcome to the forum.
There are many alternatives to the Camino Frances, and most of them will be much less traveled. You can learn a lot about these other routes by browsing around here on the forum. We followed several on our last trip in 2012, and will be exploring a few more on...
Hello Mike,
It looks like you've already found a lot of information from browsing around on this Forum. I'll just respond to your point about maybe walking a different path than the Camino Frances in order to avoid the crowds. There are plenty of other routes to Santiago, and some of them are...
Welcome to the Forum, Susan and John. There's a wealth of information and freely shared experience here. If you have specific questions to help you prepare, just ask.
Are you in Kapoho on the Big Island? We used to live in Hilo.
Buen camino.
Dan

We leave here Friday, will be in Bilbao early next week and then starting on the Camino Lebaniego from San Vicente.

Greetings,
I can't address the first part of your plan, but we walked the Ruta del Salvador and Camino Primitivo in June 2012. Those were both fantastic caminos: great scenery and walking, not crowded with pilgrims. That was about 25 days including some break days in Oviedo and Lugo, and not...
Greetings all,
We're heading back at the end of June for our second round. First pilgrimage was in the spring and summer of 2012, from Montserrat (outside Barcelona) to Finisterre, following the Camino Catalan to Jaca, then along the Camino Aragones to where it meets the Camino Frances near...
