    Some will allow it, but most, in my experience, will not. I just get a window seat and keep my eyes peeled at the stops. So far, I've personally never heard of a pack being stolen from the bus. That said, like J Willhaus said, I never put anything in my pack I can't afford to lose.

    There are buses all day long from Lisboa, Terminal Rodoviário De Sete Rios. To get there from the airport you can taxi or take public transport. Are starting your walk from Fatima or just visiting it?

    Which company are you using? I have used Caminofacil for years for my group trips. We stay in hotels, pensions, albergues with private rooms, casa rurales, and Caminofacil delivers and picks up our bags to all of those with no problems so far.

    The problem was they ask for your phone number but don't allow for the USA +001 code. So I just put in a +34 friend's number and it worked.
