    Viajando de Madrid a Leon

Hola, bienvenido al foro. Cogería el autobus directamente desde Barajas. Más cómodo y fácil sin deber cambiar trenes.

Madrid to Burgos by bus or by train?

Admittedly I haven't been there in 10 years, but I found Avda de las Americas an awful, airless place to have to wait for a bus. Given the choice I'd definitely get the bus from the airport.

travel out of santiago to Vienna

You can also look for flights to Bratislava. It's over the border in Slovakia but only about 30km away from Vienna and some low cost airlines use Bratislava as an alternative.

    Santiago - Astorga

I took the bus from Santiago to Astorga once - I think it took about 6 hours including a stop in Ponferrada for lunch. The bus station in Astorga is very close to the centre, right behind the cathedral.

    Santiago to Sienna

Alternatively you could fly with Ryanair from SdC to Milan Bergamo and take the train / bus down from there.

Mad rush from Madrid Barajas Airport T1 to Madrid train stat

I'd go with option one. In my experience baggage reclaim at Barajas isn't the fastest then you'll have passport control etc. Also the Metro station is a good 15 minutes walk away from T1 and it's always a mission to find a working ticket machine. Take your time when you land, find seats and read...

Catching the hotel tren from Santiago de Compostela to Madri

The error message is because the tickets only go on sale a few weeks prior to departure, so just keep checking back. There are some excellent fares if you book early, although there have been reports on here of people having trouble making bookings using a non-Spanish credit card. We paid...

Car from Santiago airport to Sarria

We had great service from Europcar at Santiago airport. The man at the counter spoke the clearest Spanish ever!

how to get from santiago de compostela to Gibraltar

Doesn't look like it can be done easily I'm afraid. Ryanair fly from Santiago to Malaga, however they only operate a few days a week and it arrives into Malaga very late. From Malaga airport take the cercanias line to Malaga bus station (I'm sure someone on here will know the name of the...

Leon to Bilbao or Santiago or Madrid

I'd say Madrid. Leon is about 4 or 5 hours by bus, or less by train. There are occasional buses from Leon to Barajas airport too. See http://www.alsa.es for information.

Sailing to Spain to start the Camino

Have you thought about passage on a cargo ship? http://www.strandtravelltd.co.uk/ might be able to help you with this.

    Planes, Trains, Madrid Airport

Iberia are selling this as a valid connection on their website so you should be fine. I've never transited through T4 myself but it is very modern and was designed with connections in mind. As long as you book the whole itinerary on one ticket, if your Boston-Madrid flight is delayed, Iberia are...

    Booking RENFE Trains through Rumbo.es

Have you tried contacting Rumbo to ask? I found these email addresses on their site: Ayuda online 24 horas / 7 días Si tiene alguna consulta sobre su reserva de AVIÓN o TREN, puede contactar con nosotros las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana, a través de las siguientes direcciones de...

    madrid to leon

It's easy to find your way onto the Camino in Leon as it passes right by the cathedral. With the cathedral facade behind you, the Camino heads down the road in the right hand corner. Also in the city centre the Camino is marked by brass scallop shells set into the pavement.

Any suggestions for accommodations in Sarria?

I'd recommend O Durmiendo - very comfortable beds, with quilts!

    Nordic Poles and Ryan Air

I took mine onboard as hand luggage on Easyjet between Liverpool and Madrid without any problems, but I've read on other threads that Ryanair have refused them. I don't know the legalities of this, because surely you could argue that a walking stick is a mobility aid, and to refuse you to carry...

How much time to allow from airport to train station (Madrid

Oh, and if you're planning on getting the Metro to Atocha, remember to allow at least 5 minutes to find a working ticket machine that'll take your money.

How much time to allow from airport to train station (Madrid

Which airline are you flying with? If you land at terminal 4 you could have a lengthy monorail ride just to get as far as baggage reclaim. And from the far end of terminal 1 to the bus stop is a good fifteen minute walk.

Best way to get from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid?

Ryanair (used to, don't know if they still do) have a flight which leaves SCQ at around 11.30 to land at MAD an hour later which will give you plenty of time to check-in to your 5pm flight. Remember though that if the Ryanair flight is delayed or cancelled, neither airline will take any...
