There are many different types. Some like an inside liner, whilst some have inbuilt liners. I now use 1000 mile socks

Poles or no Poles?

Having walked and cycled the il Primitivo, when it cam to walking down the steep sections with a bike, I wished I had my poles as I felt that they gave me more support than leaning on a bike with the brakes on

Hiking Shoes, or Hiking Boots?

I have a 30 litre Gregory pack and it is the most comfortable bag I have worn. I have travelled around the world with a Macpac, but for walking 30 k's a day, this beats it hands down Good choice

Two things 1) As I wrote originally, I do not want to check my luggage in 2) Here in Europe, the budget airlines charge stupid money for checking in of luggage So it looks like they will be staying home

Does anyone out there have any ideas about flying with poles? We don't want to book our packs, but take them on as hand luggage, but will the airlines let me tak the poles on as hand luggage as well Thanks
