Primitivo - May - reducing backpack weight
I did the Primitivo in mid May of 2017. My 5c sleeping bag (850 gram) was a bit much but there were nights when I really appreciated it. Next time I will use shoes rather than boots. Smart Packing and Unexpected Backpack Items
I did the CF in 2014 and was amazed at how squeaky the doors were. Very disturbing during sleep time. In 2017 I took a small canister of penetrating oil (WD40). Breaks all the weight rules (100 grams) but it was nice to solve an annoyance for everyone.- Left Coaster

I have read that we should bring our own Permitherin treated sheet and pillow case, mainly to deal with the potential bed bug problem but also for cleanliness. I am trying desperately to trim down my pack weight and would really like to ditch this weight (20 oz). Thoughts?- Left Coaster

A Sleeping Bag Testimony
I will opt for the silk liner as it is about 1/2 the weight of cotton. Also , as a fellow I met who had thru hiked the AT said, silk is just a little bit of luxury in an otherwise minimalist journey.- Left Coaster
