I walked the Salvador as a solo female in September 2014. The 5 days is enough. I didn't feel unsafe but it is a solitary walk. I stayed at the Casa Rural in Poladura. where to stay in oviedo
I stayed at Hostal Arcos in September 2014 and was under impressed. The host was not helpful or friendly and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite being non-smoking. It was not inexpensive. Looks like there are plenty of other options in equally great locations.- Pilar

WiFi on the Salvador and Primitivo?
I am on the San Salvador now. The albergue and bar at La Robla did not have wifi. There may be wifi in town but you have to walk back in or stop before getting to the albergue. I walked from San Sebastian to Santiago through Oviedo in September 2007. I found the route from Oviedo to Santiago wonderful. The views were beautiful.
