I hated that place, it reminded me of a Holiday Inn and whoever designed the shower set up has no clue how one takes a shower on the Camino unless they plan to do so fully dressed.there is an albergue at the end of the village...I mean ALL the way to the end that was the best albergue on the entire trip. It was a newer build in 2017 and quite clean. They had a pool which was a huge bonus. If I do it again, I'm considering staying for a day to just rest up for the last days of the Camino.
I stayed at La Rosa del Agua in El Acebo in late April 2022. It was a highlight of my pilgrimage. The host was super welcoming. The breakfast he fixed was hot, delicious and filling. The room was comfortable and clean. The "hippie" helpers were fascinating. I often wear the peach pit jewelry I bought there. It reminds me why we Camino. A definite will stay there again.Has anyone stayed at the Albergue Casa del Pererino or La Rosa del Agua in El Acebo? Or, perhaps both?
Right now I have the option to choose and I am trying to decide which place to stay at…..
I would appreciate any first hand knowledge.

Tincatinker could not be more correct. May I add one suggestion that I live by. (I often do not get to take advantage of these fantastic albergues as I walk later in the year). When you see a Donativo or a albergue/refugio/monastario (especially those that offer communal meals), you will almost always have a most wonderful and warm pilgrim experience. I believe, my opinion of course, the true nature of camino shines here. Of course there are some poor ones and the possibility of a bad experience looms (not large), but that possibility looms at a 4 Seasons Hotel as well.My preference in Albergues has always been a waterproof roof, a clean bed and an, at least warm, shower. If you are going to complicate your planning beyond those criteria- good luck
Me and my wife stayed at La Rosa del Agua for two nights when travelling on holiday in 2021. The rooms are clean and very comfortable beds. The owner and his team are great hosts.Has anyone stayed at the Albergue Casa del Pererino or La Rosa del Agua in El Acebo? Or, perhaps both?
