I would also recommend starting in Irun or Hondarribia, for me the views from Mt. Jaizkabel were probably the best of the whole camino, though it was also the hardest day for me as I was out of shape and carrying too much stuff (much of which I mailed from San Sebastian to Santiago). As suggested, you can walk from the airport, if you are flying in there. However, since you will be staying in San Sebastian anyway, I'd recommend spending your first 2 days site-seeing there and spend the last day on the first stage of the camino. You can leave your bags in the hotel (since you will be staying there anyway), then take the bus to Irun (about a 45 minute ride) and start the camino there. You can get a sello at the church, which is downhill from the bus stop. It's about 6-8 hours to San Sebastian, depending on how fast you go. This way, you can do the hardest day with just a day pack for water and get the benefit of the views without so much exertion. Next day, keep walking to Zarautz (if you want to surf) or Getaria (if you prefer a more picturesque town).
