Albergues in Lugo

Hi
I have searched the site, but perhaps not well enough, so if this question has been asked before, I apologise.
Does anyone know of good albergue to stay in Lugo.
I have decided to stay in Lugo, then bus it early the next day to Ponferrada and start walking as far as I can then.
Many thanks
Cate

The pilgrim albergue (Xunta-run) is in the city centre, Rúa las Nóreas 1 - though of course it's mainly intended for those on the Camino Primitivo

Do you think that it would be wise then if I asked to be accommodated, as I would not like to be seen as taking advantage, have no forethought etc.
An alternative place to stay would also be good?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I have had friends stay at a privat hostel in Lugo, close to the bus station and old town Lugo (worht a visit). The problem is that I do not remember the name of it :( , but have a look at the map below. I put the yellow star where the hostel is located. It is simple standard, clean and about 30-40 euro / night.

If you see where it says "Estacion" that is the busstation. The black line with the "bumps" on it is the stone wall that goes around Lugo old town.

If everything fails you could also stay at theGrand Hotel (see map). It is a step up, a bit old but have many rooms = probably not sold out. Search google for "grand hotel lugo" for prices and booking.

I hope this helps,
Ivar
