Alternative camino Sevilla - Guillena after heavy rains

The Amigos from Sevilla have created an alternative first stage, to walk after heavy rains when the arroyo before Guillena is impossible to cross. From what I understand from the Spanish, the alternative is signposted with yellow arrows. The first stage is about 4 to 6 kilometers longer (25-27 km, depending on other fords), but there is a possibility to sleep at reduced prices at Torre la Reina (21 km) and directly go on to Castilblanco (also 21 km).

The Amigos are still working for a bridge at the arroyo, and there is a petition for the building of this bridge.

Here the link, with maps of the new alternative.

Thanks for this. We are walking in April next year and are aware it could be quite wet.

Just checked it out on Maps.me. Looks like it could be a good route.

Great that there is now a signed alternative. I tried to cross that arroyo (Feb 2014) but my limit is water up to mid-thigh, no swimming for me! When I reached Guillena I met two brave souls who held their pack above their heads and crossed, water to chest level!

Please sign the petition - the Amigos have been trying for years to get the town of Guillena to find a solution.
