Time of past OR future Camino
2021
Hi all....I'm planning to walk the coastal and senda litoral starting in mid September. It will be my first Camino. I'm out here on the northern California coast, walking the coast trails to condition my mind and body and testing equipment.
I intent to take my time and arrive in SDC on my 83rd birthday. I'm following the coastal threads here avidly and am excited by the prospect. Fingers crossed that Covid will die down. I'll take it as it comes. As my dear old Texas grandmother used to say,"ride it like you find it or leave it alone". Hoping to hear from anyone with current info on the Coastal Way from Porto.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Buen Camino

Hey WW, We, too, will be on the coastal route in September, but a couple weeks before for and we’re cycling this time. Having already walked the Central route, I know you’ll love Portugal and Spain up to Santiago! Arriving in SdC on your birthday will just make it extra special. Bom Caminho!

From Porto up to the Spanish border, the coastal route has a lot of hardscape: concrete sidewalks, tiled streets, wooden boardwalks, etc. I'd recommend keeping this in mind as you plan your stages. All my other thoughts about Portugal... the people, the food, the wine...are extremely positive.

Thanks GD....I already love Spain and Portugal...I spent lockdown studying Portuguese. At least I get a little more conversation than just where's the restroom and a beer , please. Best on your cycling trip.
Boa Camino
