Yes,,, I understand. And will make a decision in Leon on Monday,, and thanks,, just walking the last of the VldP to Astorga and can see the snow aheadYou may find this website useful for current and predicted weather conditions, both for Castilia-Leon and Asturias. There are specific pages to provide information on mountain areas etc though you may need to rummage about a bit. And do remember this is Spring - todays snow could be gone tomorrow, and tomorrows sun could be under three feet of snow by Sunday. http://www.aemet.es/en/eltiempo
I've walked the Salvador in Spring and it was beautiful, and cold, and wet. But that was then, it will never be quite the same again. Go. And if the weather gods decide to play hardball, catch a bus
Following this with interest, as I plan to walk a hybrid of CF/Salvador/Primitivo in the next Holy Year ‘21.Buiza to Poladura and Poladura to the Puerto de Pajares are the challenges. If in doubt take the road route via Villamanin.
Buen camino
Thank you,,, will do that,,,If you are going to walk the Salvador go to the Municipal Albergue in Leon (St. Maria), there they will give you the special credential for the Salvador and some info sheets. No need to stay there if you don't want to, just pop in.
It is a beautiful camino!
