A nice day yesterday touring Pecos de Europa , the Santo Toribio , the soplao cave , Potes and the sourrounding area. My guide Gabriela Mayans From Exploring Cantabria picked me up from my hotel in Santander and we set out to explore the day returning at 7pm to catch the Easter processions but unfortunately they were cancelled due to rain. I did see the floats which were on display in a temporary pavilion just outside the main square. The morning was cloudy but later in the afternoon fog on the mountain and rain. I was able to go to the monastery of Santo Torbina and hoping to catch the 12pm mass but it was closed This today was Thursday the official Easter bank holiday along with Friday . However Gabriella spoke to the caretakes and they opened the chapel just for me. I wasn’t able to touch the cross but I was sitting on the pew directly in front of it given 5 minutes in the chapel I was in tears as I sat and prayed. I am extremely grateful.... an amazing experience. To make it even better. I received my sello (stamp) and received a Compostella..😱😊. I highly recommend this camino Liébana or if you wish take the tour offered by Grabriella and Explore Canteberia. I was not able to take pix in the soplao caves because it’s forbidden but take my word...wow👍🏼 Just for @Anamya here are pictures
