My husband and I walked from Canterbury to Rome last year. We are now planning our walk to Jerusalem starting in September. There's quite a bit of information available on the internet but nothing that we have found about accommodation. Will parishes offer hospitality to pilgrims as on the Via Francigena, are B&B the way to go or is it necessary to bring a tent? Any information would be appreciated. And if anyone knows of blogs I would love to hear about them.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

chou fleur,

For blogs by fellow Forum members see this earlier Forum thread.

For blogs hosted/quoted on other sources try Googling on one search line the three terms -- walking Jerusalem blog.

Happy research,

Hello chou fleur,
I discovered this thread a bit late, sorry.
I too am planning to walk to Jerusalem, leaving this July. From England following the via Sigeric/Francigena but then through Germany, Austria, Hungary etc (the Templars' Way).
I plan to stay in (cheap) accommodation when/if available but chose to bring a tent too.... for when there isn't any! Like many pilgrims before me, I will probably send it back home but at the moment it is giving me peace of mind.
You don't say which way you are walking to Jerusalem, are you starting in Rome?

These may help
