On the way to Gambassi Terme, Italy ... Via Francigena

Today was a pleasant walk with many hills ... vineyards, olive trees, green grass. Also, there are other people out here on the path now. Most of them started in Lucca.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I just saw The Journey by Andrea Bocelli — he’s riding horseback the 200 miles on the Via Francigena… they see a lady on the trail and as “Are you a Pilgrim?…. And she shouts back… Yes… I am!”…. It’s a beautiful environment-enjoy!

It looks wonderful. I will ”follow” you to Rome. I am planning to walk from Lucca in April, just after Easter next year.
Ohhh.. I’ll be in Lucca in October…I hasn’t even thought of that route. I’ll fly to Spain and do the Camino to Santiago. Next year is a Holy Year- correct?

Does anyone know if there’s a direct bus from Lucca to San Miniato? Or is the best option to take the train from Lucca to San Miniato Basso-Fucecchio via Pisa and then bus to San Miniato Alto? Thanks!
