The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I agree with davebugg.

For lunch or dinner Chez DeDe at 3 rue de France is quite ok. It is near the Pilgrim Office at 39 rue de la Citadelle . The place also appears in the movie The Way. I have eaten here many times over the years; the food is good and the prices very reasonable. .

My favorite restaurant in Saint Jean Pied du Port is Etxe Ostra Restaurant. It has a very good location. My favorite dish is the baked fish in the special sauce. As a compliment from the restaurant, they serve nachos with salsa sauce. For me, the most important thing is nice service, good prices, cleanliness, and delicious food. If a restaurant does not meet all these criteria, I will never visit it again. I have favorite restaurants in almost every European city. In Füssen, for example, my favorite is riwa-restaurant.de. It opened recently, but it has already become my favorite.
