Hi, Walter,
I didn't stay there, but know people who did. Roales is a little town about 6 or 7 km outside of Zamora. It's a municipal albergue, very basic and pretty small. But there are places to eat (don't know about grocery stores).

I would guess that this albergue isn't in high demand because of its proximity to Zamora (don't miss Zamora, both the city and the albergue are incredible). If you like staying in the places that are not the obvious ends of stages, this would be a good one to choose. Because quite frankly, the albergue in the next town, Montamarta, leaves a lot to be desired. It is remote, next to the highway, and the night I was in Montamarta (in a casa rural), people had stuff stolen.

Buen camino, Laurie
