They continue to do the Pilgrim Mass at noon and occasionally swing the botafumeiro. There are a lot of repairs, and there is netting on the outside of the cathedral, but it is open!!

Hi, I am due to walk from Pedrouzo to Santiago de Compostela tomorrow and hope to make the Noon Pilgrim’s Mass. Can you tell me where Pilgrims can leave their backpacks and are small tote bags allowed on the Cathedral?The cathedral is open. Some scaffolding in front of some parts because of renovations, but you will be able to enter, visit and hug Santiago

Last time I was there pilgrims could not take backpacks - only VERY SMALL bags were allowed. Hopefully you didnt have any issues going in and had a nice experience with the mass

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
