I have been offline for several weeks (on the camino), so I may have missed any reports. Please point me in the right direction if there were any. On Saturday 30 April we were walking from Roncesvalles to Zubiri. On the steep climb up the hill after Espinal, on the narrow path with barbed wire fencing either side, a rescue quad vehicle squeezed past us. At the top a peregrino had collapsed. CPR was immediately commenced by the pilgrims either side of him, and then by the rescue team. An ambulance arrived on the track on the further side, and a helicopter landed in the field very soon after that. We never heard if the peregrino survived or not, and we hope that there was a happy ending.
