Re: Toronto Pilgrims Meeting- Saturday, November 3- Program
The Canadian Company of Pilgrims -Toronto Chapter- will be hosting their regular Fall Meeting on Saturday November 3, 2012 at St. Matthews United Church (729 St Clair Ave West Toronto). Starting time is 1:30 sharp and all interested persons are welcome to attend. Parking is very limited so please consider the TTC. Arrive early to complete applications for membership and credential requests. The 2½-hour meeting should be very exciting featuring a well-known (see below) Camino author, a Nordic Pole Walking demonstration (also see below) of a short presentation from MEC, Camino photographs, and an informal Q&A session. Any questions regarding the fall meeting can be directed to Patrick: torontocamino at rogers.com
If you wish be part of our fall meeting please contact Patrick.
We are asking for people to bring their Camino photographs, please contact Patrick to reserve a display table.
We are again looking for 2 or 3 pilgrims to “pack for the Camino” and bring their fully loaded packs to display exactly what they carried on “the way”. Contact Patrick for more details.
If you have any gentle used equipment that you want to donate for our “swap meet” please bring it to the meeting.
We also need general volunteers for the meeting’s various areas.
Please donate any canned or non-perishable food items at your local food bank; we do not have the facilities to transport these goods to a drop-off area.
Guest Speaker Julie Kirkpatrick walked the Camino with her daughter, attempting a short break from her busy legal practice. Thinking that it would help to pass the time she asked 26 friends to set her a task for each day of the pilgrimage. The request resulted in her book The Camino Letters which tells the story of a woman opening herself to the ever-expanding universe, listening to the music of the journey and walking out loud.
