The highlights for me were the tunnel itself and the views over Riocha. In Irun I was told that 2 walkers had set offthe previous day. I never saw them or indeed any other walkers. If you want to avoid crowds on the camino this route is an option. If I was going to walk it again I would skip stages 2, 3 or 4 as the route passes through too many towns.
