I walked Santander to Colunga in 2010 and plan to resume there in 3 weeks. I'll buy the new Confraternity Book 2 for Villaviciosa to Arzua, but I don't really feel like buying and carrying another book just for 1 day between Colunga and Villaviciosa, as I still have my 2010 version. Does anyone have any updates for that section?

Here is what I know... there was a refuge listed for Sebrayo (although its water was non drinkable), and I have heard about another in Amandí, 2km after Villaviciosa: Albergue La Ferrería (donativo, 12 beds, kitchen, communal meals, W/D, 646 516 846. Is there anything else I need to know to update my 2010 guide? Are the markings good on that section?

Also are beds likely to be a problem between 9th and 22 July? In 2010 I never had a problem apart from one night on the floor in a very nice sports hall (with swimming pool!).

Many thanks

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
If you check out the Gronze site you should find the recent updates given at the stages from Ribadasella onwards (Etapa 18). Also you can check the CSJ site for any recent updates.
Note that in La Isla there is now only one cafe-bar (Lesmar) and it is closed on Tuesdays. The shop is nearby and opens am, and also pm after siesta.
Buen Camino

From Colunga up to Priesca is along small country roads and there's not much life apart from the odd farmer - my main memory was in May of the track down from Priesca that was so muddy (it will hopefully be better in July but, if not, I'd follow the small road to the left instead) - even in such quiet territory, Sebrayo stands out for being even quieter - a small number of houses and an albergue - but I'd really worry about food and drink - the Cicerone book then mentions an albergue in Tornon, just 3km before Villaviciosa - where the Hotel Carlos I is pilgrim friendly. Probably best to print off Google maps to cover the town centre of Villaviciosa to Amandi - there's a park on the way out of Villaviciosa that can confuse with markings; you should certainly stock up in Villaviciosa as the bar in Peon wasn't open in May but hopefully will be later in the season

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
