I am looking for experiences from the Venice Route. I am considering hiking it this next June of 2014. I just returned from completing the Camino Frances this past June. Has anyone done all or part of the Venice Route?
I have walked Venice-Altopascio(Pisa) on the Via Romea in the fall of 2012.
I enjoyed it along with side trips to some sites of interest.
Here is all the info on the subject: http://www.amicidisantiago.it/romea/leona.htm
Enjoy!

I walked there last year as well, partly on via romea leona then on via francigena and along the coast to genoa. I made accommodation lists for my route and updated some on my return: http://camino-medieval.webs.com/accommodationlists.htm. always call ahead to make sure the place is (still) accepting pilgrims, and carry a mattress and a sleeping bag with you! the maps from the site cited above are very good.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
