Looking to do the next section of the VF. Not too keen on taking the coastal route after Benevento. Thinking of detouring onto the Appian Way after then to get to Brindisi. Will add on the section to SM di Leuca after that.

Any advice from those that might have done either? In either direction?

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
After Benevento I joined coast at Bari - by choice - to continue along the coast to Brindisi (and enjoyed it!) But if you are continuing to Leuca from Brindisi I can see that may be enough of the coast! It is a little bit samey-samey in some ways!

Can see your route from Wikiloc (thanks) but I'd like to stick to country routes than flat coast.

Anything in Turkey coming up?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

I don't think I can manage it for another year unfortunately due to a variety of commmitments this year. Retirement is not so simple.....

Can't help you there but I'm looking for any info about the first half of the VF, from Canterbury to Switzerland. There doesn't seem to be much French infrastructure in place.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

There is plenty of infrastructure, with a little effort to identify it!😉
