I am starting Camino on 6/15 2014 - for the first time
Just wanted to check with pilgrims who might have any experience…
I would like to purchase train ticket from Madrid to Sarria on RailEurope.
Without sound paranoid and/or silly – is it safe? Would the tickets be really valid on the selected train?
Or should I purchase directly from Renfe.
Thank you.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Alexandra. RailEurope is a reputable site and acts as agents for many national rail companies as its name implies. However it does not necessarily have access / availability to all tickets on all trains and has a, possibly unfounded, reputation for being expensive. Buying direct from RENFE online or at the station will give you access to the broadest range of trains and prices.
Buen Camino

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

My experience with RailEurope is that it a great site to order Eurail passes and the like

But you will do better buying directly from the rail service of each country (Renfe for Spain, SNCF for France, for example) saving yourself the additional admin charge per ticket, and having access to a wider range of tickets, prices and times than through buying through RailEurope.
