@Annie LittlePerhaps readiness is not as important as willingness . Willing to put myself outside my comfort zone.
I will definitely be walking MY way. I know myself well enough to know I only rely on myself and so have to do it my way.
Argh and now you have struck on one of my foibles ..... Trust is difficult for me . I am sure the CAMINO has lessons in store for me . That is the ONLY thing I am sure of at this point .@Annie Little
The way will bring you many surprises, if you are open to it. Maybe you can trust that you are able to take care of yourself without getting too attached to MY way. As for only relying on yourself, you will meet many "camino angels" if you need them and are open to their help. For me, the Way was a way of learning. I hope that you will be able to learn what it has to teach you. Blessings on your Way.

As I am leaving in two weeks, this line of yours really hit me. Just yesterday, my mum was saying to me that maybe I should train for a year before doing the Camino instead doing it this year. I have been training for a bit, but nowhere near a year. In a year from now, I may be more ready, but I may no longer be willing. For me it is right now that I am willing and able. Completely ready? That may never happen. I am also getting jitters and thoughts of "are you out of your gourd" flit through my mind once in a while. Some times it is good to be a little out of ones gourd.Perhaps readiness is not as important as willingness

Hi Anne , great to hear your Camino is now going ahead , we corresponded in the past before your postponement, and I share many of your anxieties, but also know you will have a wonderful journey ! I just wish other commitments would let our paths cross, but sadly I think I'm looking at 2017 before I'll be there. Buen Camino, Enjoy, Share photos !
I too am leaving SJPP on September 9 and am plagued with worries and excitement. hope to meet you!Hi Anne-
Like you, we are walking in September (leaving SJPP on 9/20), and like you, I am plagued by head games, which I suspect is very normal. I have pared down my packing list and can carry my pack with no problem, yet I still review the list in my head each night. I have faithfully followed advice from forum members on blister prevention and have trained hundreds of miles without a blister on my usually blister-prone feet, yet I worry that I will need different supplies than I have packed. Then I take a deep breath and realize that I will have enough to get me through a day or two and can buy what I need if I need something else. Like you, I worry endlessly about the first two days, but we will both make it, no matter how slowly we might need to take it. I know I will feel better when I actually start walking the Camino rather than thinking about walking it, and I hope you will too. You are definitely not alone in your thoughts!
Buen Camino!
Karen
