September on the Camino

Time of past OR future Camino
ASAP
Hi,
A friend and myself are starting from St.Jean De Port in the middle of September.

I do a bit of walking but he does very little.

Whereas I would like to have a target every day,he wants to stop when he gets tired. Nothing wrong with that.
But we would rather not stay in hostels. Will do it as a last resort
I am told by someone who has done the whole Camino that there is no problem getting a cheap hotel on the day, just walking in

Is that likely inSeptember?

I think that reserving a Hotel or Casa rural is the way to go.
And it's easy to do.
Get some options from your guide book and your current hotel manager on where to stay the following night.
The managers are mines of information and are only too happy to be of help.
After a decision is made, get them to phone and make the reservation for you.
