Camino Francais (July/August 2015)
Is anyone going to watch the tour before beginning their Camino? I land in Madrid on the 14th and was going to train to Pamplona on the 15th. Now that I know Le Tour is going to be sooo close by, and for the exciting mountain stages, it seems a crime not to try and go. But the logistics look intimidating and I haven't actually figured out how to make it happen. Does anyone already have a plan in place they would be willing to share? Thanks!

Take Renfe train to Irun/Hendaye. Take SNCF train from Hendaye to Tarbes (14th), Pau (15th), and Lannemezan (16th).

Alternatively take Renfe to Barcelona, SNCF to Toulouse and then Tarbes. This may be faster.

Then Lannemezan to Puyoo (17th). Transports64 bus 809 from Puyoo to St Palais and 810 from St Palais to SJPdP.

Renfe train ends at Irun, then transfer to the Euskotren commuter train for the 10 minute trip to Hendaye across the border. You could walk to Hendaye from
Irun, but it's a good 40 minute walk on foot.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

You say it is a good 40 minute walk on foot like it is a bad thing!!!

Thank you so much everyone for the replies. It is looking like I will be going through Barcelona to Toulouse and then whichever spot I decide to watch from. Much appreciated!!
