Hi Suzanne,
I cant offer you much advice as I haven't walked this way yet. I believe its possible to get a bus from Vigo to A Guarda also if this is an option for you.
Wishing you a Buen Camino

The coastal route to Oia is much easier than the mountain way. We went the mountain way from the ferry terminal and it was moderate to almost difficult. For a real treat, we stayed in Oia, Spain at Casa Puertas and one of the three sister owners speaks perfect French and English. Buen Camino

Thanks everyone yes I had checked out buses but unfortunately hard to coordinate as I'm traveling on a Sunday so less frequent connections. We hope to stay in oia for a night so delighted it's nice. Thanks everyone again buen Camino X

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

In Oia, try "A Casa da Henriqueta" restaurant for the scallops appetizer. Great place!

Thanks Gary planning on doing that! Staying tonight in Hostal del Mar in A Guarda perfect €45 for 2 right on beach and Camino route. Had dinner in Riveria on Calle Porto - really lovely highly recommend -on to Oia tomorrow

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

There are buses from Vigo to A Guarda, but the schedule is a bit inconvenient. I would recommend to check Blablacar, a ride sharing service very popular in Spain. I've used it to travel from Santiago to a Coruña and it works really well, also cheap.
